Victoria has broken another streak of COVID free days and recorded new local cases on the day restrictions are expected to ease.
On Friday, the health department confirmed there has been two cases acquired locally out of 16,594 tests.
This breaks the state’s streak of six days of no virus infections.
The health department said the new cases are both primary close contacts of pre-existing cases.
They have been quarantining during their infectious period.
